On March 12, South Carolina’s Lovely World will proudly unveil their new single “You Know Darlin'” via Dark Spark Music (owned and operated by veteran rock manager Vicky Hamilton) / Brookstone Party Music.

Formed in 2015, Lovely World (Landon Rojas, Cade Rojas, Cameron Smith and Michael Gilbert, who are all in their early 20s) built their musical foundation on their love of 70s music and new school rock. “You Know Darlin'” continues this trajectory. Vans And Record Store Day To Release ‘Songs For You, Volumes 1 & 2’

Vans, the original action sports footwear and apparel brand, is teaming up with Record Store Day to release two albums, Songs for You, Vols. 1 & 2, to spotlight and support Black-owned record stores. The limited-edition vinyl releases will be available to purchase at independent record stores on Record Store Day 2021 (June 12th).

UK Music Urges Chancellor To ‘Back British Music’ And Deliver ‘Sounds Of Summer’ For Music Fans

UK Music has called on Chancellor Rishi Sunak to back its new three-point plan to guarantee a summer packed with the best of British music.

Unveiling the plan before the Chancellor’s Budget, UK Music Chief Executive Jamie Njoku-Goodwin said the music industry wanted to create a “truly memorable musical celebration” as the UK emerged from Covid-19 lockdown.

He welcomed the Prime Minister’s announcement of three clear dates: April 12 for the start of pilot events; May 17 for indoor and outdoor events – with capacity limits and social distancing; and June 21 for large gigs and concerts with no social distancing.

Joachim Cooder was joined by his father, Ry Cooder, for a performance streamed from the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles on Saturday. Pet Shop Boys Announce The Release Of Their Brand New Track ‘Cricket Wife’

Pet Shop Boys will release a brand-new single, ‘Cricket wife’ on May 7th.

The dramatic new song – almost 10 minutes long – will be part of a special two-track CD single accompanying the publication of the latest edition of their yearly hardback book, Annually 2021. The second track on the CD is a lockdown version of Pet Shop Boys classic ‘West End girls’ which debuted online in June 2020. Both tracks were recorded during lockdown, with Chris and Neil recording their parts in their respective homes.

‘Cricket wife’ uses orchestral sounds and was written by Chris as a classical-style instrumental piece; Neil then sang lyrics taken from a poem he had written. Pete Gleadall mixed the final track.

The two-track CD is available with this year’s issue of Annually. The 64-page, hard-backed book will include a bumper feature called ‘A year’ – a definitive chronicle of 1986, the year Pet Shop Boys achieved global success, based on Neil’s diary with comments from PSB and archive images. // Continue to the full article

“She Walks in Beauty” was written by Lord Byron after attending a party at Lady Sarah Caroline Sitwell’s on June 11, 1814, and falling under the spell of the beautiful Mrs Anne Beatrix Wilmot. It is reported that, upon returning to his rooms, he toasted her health, drained a tumbler of brandy, then sat and wrote the poem. But did he get the girl? It was published a year later in his volume of Hebrew Melodies.
