Action Bronson has unveiled “Mongolia,” the third preview of his new album Only For Dolphins out next week (September 25 / Loma Vista Recordings). The track premiered this afternoon on The Ebro Show on Apple Music, and comes a week after the announcement of Bronson’s first full-length release since 2018. Today it was also announced that Bronson will be a part of Bonnaroo’s 2020 Virtual ROO-ALITY festival, streaming September 24th through 26th on their YouTube.
“Mongolia” jabs with a fuzzed-out Turkish funk riff and in just a single verse namechecks 16 Handles, David Caruso and The Mets (and kicks off with a quick The Wire sample for good measure). It also boasts the only featured guest MCs on the record, the brother duo and Bronson’s close friends Meyhem Lauren and hologram.
Bronson teased Only For Dolphins in July with “Latin Grammys,” deemed a “return to form” by Hypebeast. // Continue to the full article
French Cassettes singer and songwriter Scott Huerta was living beneath a stairwell in San Francisco, CA (cramped, but only $200 a month) when he wrote what would become his band’s sophomore LP, Rolodex. “I adopted the mentality, which was probably unhealthy, that every song I wrote needed to be my favorite song,” he remembers. “I lost my mind so many times in the middle of the night.”
The eight tracks and 24 minutes of Rolodex are an epic statement of purpose in a decidedly taut package; hook-filled and rooted in pop, layered with intricate vocals and counter-harmonies, inventive percussion, and every shade of clean and fuzzy guitars stacked up like an orchestra. French Cassettes will release Rolodex on December 11 via Tender Loving Empire + today shared the video for the “disco-infused, power-pop, shimmering indie thrasher” (BreakThru Radio) “Utah” to announce the album that’s been eight years in the making. // Continue to the full article

Today they have teamed up with Outburn Magazine to debut follow up “I Used To Be You.” Fans can check out the introspective and hard-hitting new single now, below.
“‘I Used To Be You’ was written as a reflection of my past, riddled with toxic relationships, substance abuse and struggling to cope with the loss of my father. The song is an introspective look into the person I became when life was at its darkest, but narrates how I was able to overcome adversity and better myself, for my own sake and those around me,” shares vocalist Austin McAuley. “The driving force behind this story of rebirth is the memory of my father, his voice in my head telling me not to give up, to never stop fighting. // Continue to the full article
Rising pop sensation Sam DeRosa is back – pouring her heart into new single “321.” With slick vocals backed by a playful instrumental, Sam gives listeners a taste of her debut EP The Medicine due out November 13th via Monument Records.
The Los Angeles-based artist delivers a hypnotic track, unearthing the plethora of feelings that surface post-breakup. From the very first verse, “321” describes a night known all too well. The drinks are flowing, the music is blasting, the night is young… but your suppressed emotions decide to pop in for a little surprise. Suddenly you find yourself crying on a random bathroom floor. Did you make a mistake? Do you want them back? Or is this just the alcohol talking? “Vodka soda, I sip it slowly, I get a little dangerous when I get lonely… I’m nervous, got me shaking, got me feeling like the old me. // Continue to the full article

Modern pop culture legend and LGBTQ+ groundbreaker Trixie Mattel has raised the bar a notch higher on an already accomplished career with her reinterpretation of Lana Del Rey’s powerhouse debut single and now-iconic 2010s indie ballad “Video Games”. With her signature autoharp in-hand, Mattel speeds up the tempo and trades the orchestral grandiosity of the original for a lonesome western whistling and an arrangement forged in the fires of classic mournful country and Americana.
The video, which drops today, combines the iconic melodrama of its source material with Trixie’s patented life-size Barbie style as imagery of cowboys, horses and classic videos games are projected over her, serving as an allusion to the grainy footage, vintage montage aesthetic of Lana Del Rey’s original video. // Continue to the full article

On-the-rise alt-pop duo Somewhat Coy, comprised of Connor McCoy (vocals) and Matt Browning (production), have released their debut single, “Honest,” an instant classic that dives headfirst into the insecurities of love. The duo gracefully exposes the unspoken reality of when a relationship has run its course, and the difficulty behind telling both yourself and your partner the truth. “Honest” is now available to stream and download on digital platforms.
As smooth melodies intertwine with feathery vocals throughout the track, the duo paints a picture of raw emotion trapped beneath words. From the outset, the single beautifully crescendos, while McCoy effortlessly harmonizes implicit truths. The pair explained that they wanted to describe the feeling when you are stuck in denial, and your body won’t allow you to speak on the way you feel honestly. // Continue to the full article

The song is a stripped-down, bare bones version of the title track from their most recent album, Sins We Made, which was released on April 17, 2020.
The new single is about the changing environment for men and women post #MeToo and what that means as a duo, as friends, in the workplace, and how to support and create space for all voices. Finding themselves in a creative mood during the pandemic, the pair carved out some time to escape to Mulholland’s boat-in cottage in Muskoka, ON, where they set up some old ribbon microphones in the main room of the cabin and stripped some songs down to their essences. Brian Eno releases Film Music 1976 – 2020 – his first-ever collection of music from his film and television soundtrack oeuvre digitally on November 13, 2020, and on 2LP and 1CD on January 22, 2021. Spanning five decades, this release features classic Eno compositions and includes some lesser-known gems and seven previously unreleased tracks.
Eno’s long-standing affair with film goes all the way back to 1970 with his soundtrack to Malcolm Le Grice’s short experimental film Berlin Horse. In 1976 he followed this with Sebastiane and a long-forgotten Greek b-horror film, Land Of The Minotaur AKA The Devil’s Men. This led to an unstoppable momentum largely initiated by the release of Music For Films. Early classic Eno film moments include “Prophecy Theme” from David Lynch’s Dune, “From The Beginning” from Dario Argento’s Opera, “Force Marker” and “Late Evening In Jersey” from Michael Mann’s Heat, “Under” from Ralph Bakshi’s Cool World and his moving cover of William Bell’s soul classic, “You Don’t Miss Your Water,” in Jonathan Demme’s Married to The Mob. // Continue to the full article
